PADI Assistant Instructor Course Overview
PADI Assistant Instructor Course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). This course is designed for PADI Divemasters (or any qualifying certification from another training organizations) who would like to expand their knowledge, skills and duties as a more valuable instructional assistant and assume limited teaching responsibilities. It’s a great way to gain experience in order to become a PADI Scuba Instructor!
Not only it provides a valuable preparation towards PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course, it also expands skills that enhance a PADI Assistant Instructor’s professional capacity.
During the program, you’ll gain additional experience while continuing to learn the PADI System of Diver Education. Throughout this 5-day course, you will be introduced to teaching techniques to conduct meaningful knowledge development sessions, confined water training and open water training dives.
After you have successfully completed your PADI Assistant Instructor Course (on top of what you can conduct as a PADI Divemaster), you will be able to:
- Conduct Knowledge Development portion of PADI diver courses under direct supervision of a PADI Instructor
- Independently conduct Discover Scuba Diving program
- Independently conduct and certify PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Diver course
- Independently conduct and certify PADI Digital Underwater Photography, PADI Equipment Specialist, PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Diver courses after you have attended those particular PADI Specialty Instructor training courses
PADI Assistant Instructor Course adds to your abilities as a dive professional, while giving you the necessary tools to complete the entire PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) by attending your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course.
